The Saloon at Polesden Lacey, nr Dorking, Surrey. The Saloon is extravagently carved and panelled, the panelling is c.1700 and was removed from an Italian palazzo. Red brocade is let into the panelling (this brocade was replaced in 1960) and the large portrait is of Margaret Anderson, the Hon. Mrs Ronald Greville, DBE, and is by Herman Schmiechen.
