Description
Raised-work picture, satin embroidered with silk, coloured purl, cord and braid, possibly representing Solomon and the Queen of Sheba, English, c.1650-75, in the Great Chamber at East Riddlesden Hall. The word "wisdom" is stitched on the book held by Solomon. The dress of the pair is like that of Charles II and Catherine of Braganza.
