Description
A full-length Spinning Mule at Quarry Bank Mill, Styal, invented by Samuel Crompton and patented by him in 1779, combining the drawing out process of the Water Frame with the moveable carriage of the Spinning Jenny. It was particularly suitable for spinning fine yarns and weft.
