Description
The Saloon at Belton House, Lincolnshire, UK. The panelled state reception room retains much of its seventeenth century atmosphere. The wood carving may be by Edmund Carpenter, some may possibly be by Grinling Gibbons. The plasterwork ceiling is C19th and by George Jackson & Sons, a Victorian pastiche in the style of Edward Goudge. The carpet is Aubusson and commissioned by the 1st Earl in 1839.
