Oil painting on canvas. General George Monck, 1st Duke of Albemarle (1608-1670), after Samuel Cooper (London 1608 - London 1672).A painted oval bust-length portrait, looking to his left. In armour, with white lace collar, full wig unpowdered, medal of St George and Dragon/Order of the Garter on a gold chain round neck.He masterminded the restoration of Charles II in 1660. The original miniature is in the Duke of Buccleuch Collection. CMS_PCF_355470
