Description

Close view of the broken segmental pediment and putti at the top of the altar in the Chapel at Belton House, Lincolnshire, UK. The altar was installed by "Young" Sir John Brownlow in the late C17th and the carving may be the result of a collaboration between William Stanton, mason-contractor, and a local carver such as Edmund Carpenter.
